WHY ARE WE CALLED “CHICAGO EMBASSY”?
The Bible calls people who are committed to coming alongside the people in their community and city with the love and truth of Jesus Christ “Ambassadors” (2 Corinthians 5:20). We are totally committed to doing just that - coming alongside the city of Chicago with love and truth. That makes us Ambassadors and the headquarters for a group of Ambassadors on a diplomatic mission is called an “Embassy”.
What is the GatherinG Like?
At The Gathering, you’ll find a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with impactful worship music. There is a screen that will display the lyrics to the songs and scriptures so that you’ll be able to keep up with everything. Our pastor will give a sermon that will help you spiritually and practically in life. Children are cared for in a loving and fun-filled environment. The Gathering is usually between 1.5 to 2 hours.
What will happen when i visit for the first time?
If you are visiting, we will not embarrass you by having you stand up or anything else high pressure. We know that many people want to check out the church and “be anonymous” for a while—and that’s fine with us! Come in, enjoy the atmosphere, and get something for your life. If you would like us to contact you or if you’d like more information you can fill out a “Connect Card” which our host/hostess team will make available to you.
What should I wear?
You’ll find everything from jeans and Ts to dress shirts and skirts in our multi-generational Gathering. Come in what is comfortable for you, because Chicago Embassy Church is not about what you look like or what you wear, but what God has designed you to be.
What About my children?
At Chicago Embassy Church, our pastor has 4 young children (1, 3, 5, and 7). Needless to say, children are a top priority. Our facility is clean, safe, and staffed with loving workers. We offer a dynamic children’s ministry during the Gathering for children ages 2 to 11. We also have a Cry Room/Nursery where parents can tend to smaller children and still keep up with what is going on in the main chapel via live stream on our screen.
